FuelPlus congratulates Avianca on the delivery of its first Airbus A320
In a private ceremony in Toulouse last week, Airbus handed over the first Airbus A320 to Avianca, the first one of an order of 60 aircraft. This is the beginning of the airline's ambitious plan to renovate all its fleet.
The first aircraft, registered HK-4549, landed at Eldorado International Airport in Bogota the 23rd of February at 3:50 pm. The delivery flight was via Morrocco and Brasil. Fabio Villegas Ramirez, the CEO of Avianca, and a large number of the employees greeted the crew with Colombian flags as the plane approached the ramp.
During 2008, Avianca will receive another seven Airbus aircraft including A319 and a widebody A330. This is certainly the beginning of a new era for Avianca and the Colombian civil aviation.
