WestJet Airlines selects FuelPlus EFM as fuel management solution

FuelPlus (FPS), a leading provider of enterprise fuel management solutions for the air transport industry, with offices in Hannover, Germany and Marlborough, Massachusetts, announced today that WestJet Airlines Ltd. has selected FuelPlus EFM as their administrative fuel management system.

In order to support their growing business, WestJet Airlines was looking for an in-house fuel management system that could assist in planning, contract administration, and invoice reconciliation. After an extensive market evaluation WestJet Airlines, one of the leading value oriented airlines in North America, selected FuelPlus EFM because of its excellent fuel-related functionality and premium support of airline fuel processes.

For FPS, this agreement is an important step towards expanding its North American operations to Canada, as Klaus-Peter Warnke, Managing Director of FuelPlus, said: “We’re very pleased to be selected as partner for this important project. Our latest FuelPlus EFM release 4.3, already in production at Lufthansa, will deliver state-of-the-art management support for the entire fuel process at WestJet Airlines.”

FPS will deliver their premium fuel management solution FuelPlus EFM, conduct the implementation project in collaboration with WestJet Airlines, and provide support and maintenance services for an initial period of 3 years.

FuelPlus EFM will assist WestJet Airlines on the administrative fuel management side by providing functions for planning, tendering, contract and supply chain management, inventory management, accounting, and reporting. The system will also manage and optimize domestic duties, fees, and taxes.

WestJet Airlines will join the FuelPlus User Group which consists of currently 24 airlines using FuelPlus EFM including AirTran, Austrian Airlines, Avianca, Polar Air, All Nippon Airways, DHL Worldwide Express, Etihad, Kenya Airways, KLM, Lufthansa Group, Malaysia Airlines, South African Airlines, Swiss, and others.
