Preview on FuelPlus 4.3 – Improvements that make fuel management even more efficient

The next FuelPlus base release 4.3 will come with some major improvements which will make fuel management more efficient. The main enhancement is the introduction of new contract types for the Into Plane business.

The currently available contract type "Product Into plane" will be split up into two types:

  1. Product / Into plane, which covers the most common fueling scenario: supplier invoices for product, services, taxes, etc. Airline receives just one invoice for the fueling.
  2. Product / Ex hydrant, which covers the scenario in which product and fueling services are invoiced from different parties.

Additionally, General Volume Contracts / IPL will be introduced, which cover scenarios where fees or taxes are invoiced from a third party different from product supplier and fueling service company.

This will enable FuelPlus users to setup all contractual situations seen on airports today, including fueling scenarios that contain product deliveries from multiple suppliers, infrastructure fees from separate companies as well as fueling services from more than one fueling service company.

The integration of self-supply scenarios will be improved. Self-Supply will be handled using a new type of contract. This new contract type resembles Product /Ex hydrant contracts where the contract price is determined based on a new type of internal time series. Daily quotations for this internal time series are generated by FuelPlus as the storage out price of an airline-operated storage. This new feature will greatly enhance the flexibility to connect General Volume Contracts / IPL for this type of fueling scenario.

The next user group meeting in September 2009 will cover the opportunities and advantages of this improvement in detail.

In addition, many more enhancements and improvements will come with FP 4.3 in the areas of volume forecasts, contract management, and accounting.
