Release 5.0 - First glance on the Graphical User Interface
Starting with Release 5.0, FuelPlus EFM will come with a new look-and-feel. As we announced in our last news, FuelPlus Software GmbH is implementing a completely new user interface that will not only replace the current layout, but also simplify user interaction and integration with other applications.
While development is under way, you can learn about some of the steps that have been taken:
- The basic building blocks of the new Graphical User Interface (GUI) have been identified.
- New GUI features have been implemented and are now being tested.
- We have proven that the new GUI interface can be seamlessly deployed on top of the current FuelPlus business logic.
The new user interface will be implemented as a “Rich Internet Application” (RIA), incorporating state-of-the-art Web 2.0 features. This will improve both the user experience and the integration ability, and it will also simplify deployment of the application. The new GUI supports features like:
- Screen customization: The user can control the way data are presented:
- Columns can be resized.
- Columns can be hidden or shown, depending on users preferences.
- Data can be sorted easily by clicking on column headers.
- Scrolling in vertical as well as horizontal directions is possible.
- Instant reporting: The content of customized screens can be printed using predefined report templates or exported to other tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Better control of data access: Large objects such as invoices or contracts can be grouped in blocks. The user may choose to see these data groups or not, depending on the user’s role.
- Application configuration: A user can configure the FuelPlus functional areas that he or she needs, and then can switch easily between these areas.
